Hey, future me!
Yo, I’m chilling at my tiny ass apartment in Brooklyn right now, crushing a cold one and binge - watching some random Netflix show. Crazy to think that by the time you’re reading this, a few years have passed. I gotta say, I’m stoked and a little freaked out about what’s in store for you.
Let’s talk work. I’m still grinding away at this marketing job, trying to climb the corporate ladder like everyone else. My goal? To either land that senior manager position at my company or finally have the balls to quit and start my own thing. I’ve been brainstorming ideas for a startup that helps local small businesses with their social media game. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t want to be their own boss and actually do something I’m passionate about? I hope you’re either killing it at that big promotion or living the dream as an entrepreneur. No more 9 - to - 5 grind, just doing your own thing, making your own rules.
Relationships? Well, I’m still single and mingling, hitting up those bars in Williamsburg and swiping left and right on dating apps. I’m really hoping that by now, you’ve found that special someone. Like, I’m talking about the kind of person you can binge - watch Friends reruns with, argue over who makes the better pizza (obviously New York style, duh), and build a life together. Maybe you’re even married with a couple of kids running around, or at least living with your partner in a rad place with a backyard for barbecues.
And speaking of living situations, I’m so over this tiny apartment. My dream is to own a house in upstate New York someday, with a big ass porch and a view of the mountains. I want to be able to go hiking on weekends without having to deal with the subway and the crowds. I hope you’re living it up in that dream house, hosting epic Fourth of July parties with all our friends, and just enjoying the peace and quiet away from the city chaos.
The world’s changing like crazy, man. Electric cars are becoming the norm, and space tourism is actually a thing. I’m both excited and a little scared of where all this technology is taking us. I hope you’re not just keeping up but actually ahead of the curve, using all these new gadgets and trends to your advantage. Maybe you’re even working in the tech industry, helping to shape the future.
I know there’ll be tough times ahead, but I also know you’ve got this. Remember that time I finally learned how to ride a skateboard at 25? Yeah, if I can do that, you can handle whatever life throws your way. Just keep being yourself, stay positive, and never stop chasing those dreams. Can’t wait to hear all about the amazing adventures you’ve had!
Peace out,
Past you
